The Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000 is a powerful enterprise-level in-building cellular distributed antenna system. It is a cost-efficient and easy-to-deploy signal solution for buildings up to 200,000 sq ft. The QUATRA boosts 3G/4G/LTE voice and data on one cellular network.
The QUATRA is a hybrid solution that combines the best of active DAS and Smart Booster technologies. It is self-configuring and self-optimizing, with the the Cel-Fi WAVE Portal making installation and configuration simple for IT professionals.
The Cel-Fi WAVE Platform is a cloud-based remote management platform that enables device management and maintenance of Cel-Fi QUATRA systems. Key features of the WAVE platform include:
- Cel-Fi device and asset management
- Data modeling and reporting
- Mobile and desktop applications. The WAVE mobile app facilitates ease of use on site
- Globally trusted carrier-grade security
- Alerts and alarms can be used as recommended settings or customized however users prefer.
- The WAVE Platform portal can be accessed through the dashboard interface, or integrated via APIs.
The QUATRA is scalable and configurable up to 200,000 sq ft. It operates in off-air mode or it can be integrated with carrier small cell equipment and operated in distributed small cell mode, creating a Supercell.
Networked Smart Booster Configurations
These Off-Air configurations use capacity from the cell network’s existing coverage, extending it indoors where it is needed. This deployment uses the QUATRA’s Network Unit’s internal antennas, and is useful in rural areas where the Network Unit can be located to access a good donor signal. For more densely populated urban areas where network interference is often an issue, the Network Unit may be connected to a high gain indoor directional antenna for improvement.
Distributed Small Cell Configuration
In the Distributed Small Cell Configuration, a small cell is used as the donor signal for the Cel-Fi QUATRA. This method facilitates a more uniform signal distribution throughout a larger area. Additional Cel-Fi QUATRA systems may be used to expand coverage up to 200,000 Sq. Ft. per (typical) small cell.
Elements
QUATRA Network Unit (NU)
The Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000 Network Unit (NU) is the hub of the system. The scalable design works with one to four Coverage Units to provide up to 50,000 sq ft. of coverage. The NU provides donor signal to Cel-Fi QUATRA System and power to up to four Coverage Units. It can be managed by the WAVE Cloud Platform for Remote Monitoring.
QUATRA Coverage Unit (CU)
The Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000 Coverage Unit (CU) is the remote radio head of the system that rebroadcasts the donor signal. Each CU provides coverage in the QUATRA system (up to four per Network Unit). Each CU is powered by Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) from the Network Unit
QUATRA Small Cell Interface
The Cel-Fi QUATRA Small Cell Interface (SCIF) is required for small cell installation. It simplifies RF connections between a small cell and Network Units. It includes a main unit and all cables for a single NU.
QUATRA Range Extender (QRE)
The Cel-Fi QUATRA Range Extender that extends the maximum distance between the NU and the CU. It allows NU-to-CU cable lengths of up to 200 meters (650 ft.) The QRE is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) device (no separate power supply or PoE injector needed).
Cel-Fi MIMO Panel Antenna
The Cel-Fi MIMO Panel Antenna is a dual-polarization LTE MIMO antenna for wall, ceiling, or pole mount installations. It offers up to 6.5 - 9 dBi of gain. The Cel-Fi MIMO Panel Antenna is required for off-air installation of multiple CUs.
Cel-Fi AntennaBoost integrates the Cel-Fi MIMO Panel Antenna with the Cel-Fi WAVE Platform. The antenna connects to any MIMO-enabled NU or CU with QMA (quick connect) cables. The 8-position dial base allows the antenna to be rotated in 45-degree increments for best performance, managed with real-time data from the Cel-Fi WAVE Platform Antenna Position Test.
